ARTIST STATEMENT
 
My Logo depicts a feather quill over a blot of spilled ink. My initial sketches include bird-related imagery as a nod to my family name, Hawk and to symbolize my connection to my family whilst exploring my new-found freedom in "leaving the nest". Ultimately, I decided on the feather based on its simplicity and ease of recognition. Feeling like the feather was missing something, I further personalized it by turning it into a quill. This represents my love of writing and my pursuit of a career in screenwriting. The spilled ink symbolizes my creativity and ability to grow from my mistakes.

The speaker explained the pen tool, type tool, rectangle tool, startle tool, curvature, and the difference between the selection and direct selection tool. I also appreciated the inclusion of keyboard shortcuts.   SKETCHES BUSINESS CARDS ARTIST STATEMENT In this project, I improved by InDesign skills my creating three business card designs. On each of these designs, I incorporated my name, logo, job title, contact information, and website. I used small graphics I found online next to each line of contact information. I felt that this gave the design a more professional look. Deciding how to best incorporate my logo into each design provided a challenge. In the end, I like how my logo adds to each design.
